ICT trading starts from liquidity. Michael J. Huddleston, the Inner Circle Trader, describes price as delivered by the Interbank Price Delivery Algorithm (IPDA), which moves it from one pool of liquidity to the next. Buy-side liquidity rests above old and equal highs; sell-side liquidity rests below old and equal lows. The draw on liquidity sets the daily bias. A higher-timeframe dealing range splits price into a premium above its 50% equilibrium and a discount below it.

Inside that range, ICT marks PD arrays, the zones where price is expected to react: the fair value gap (FVG) and its consequent encroachment (CE), the order block, the breaker block, the rejection block and opening gaps such as the new day opening gap (NDOG). Longs are looked for at a discount array, shorts at a premium one.

A market structure shift (MSS), a candle body close through a short-term swing with displacement, confirms the turn. Kill zones such as the London open and the New York AM session set the timing.
